Frank T. Ingram
Principal Consultant - Petroleum GeologyFrank Ingram has over
40 years experience in petroleum exploration, working in a number of
countries including the USA, Australia, Indonesia, China, Central and South
America, Libya and Iran.
Following graduation, Frank worked for two years with the US Army Map
Service in Alaska and then joined the Atlantic Refining Company (Arco)
as a geologist in 1956.
During the next five years, Frank worked in the USA, Guatamala and
Bolivia before being moved to Australia in 1961 where his work included a
major drilling programme in the onshore Gippsland Basin. In 1965 he was
appointed as Senior Geologist for Arco in Iran and subsequently Libya from
where he returned to Australia in 1969 to work on Arcoís major exploration
programme in the Bonaparte Gulf and Timor Sea. Except for a break from 1972
to 1975 as Chief Geologist in Peru, Frank worked on this area for the next
ten years, first as a Senior Geologist and then as Chief Geologist for Arco
in Australia.
In 1979, Frank returned to Los Angeles where he was appointed Geological
Manager for Central and South America. From 1983 to 1985 Frank acted as
Geological Co-ordinator for China before being transferred to Jakarta as
Geological Manager.
Frank retired from Arco in 1989 and joined RobSearch Australia in 1990.
Since then he has worked on a wide range of projects including major
technical reviews of the Timor Sea, the Clarence-Moreton Basin and the
McArthur Basin. He has also undertaken several exploration drilling programs
in Indonesia.
